Chamber Music Columbus and VIVO Music Festival continue their annual partnership with a program exploring the theme of hope in American music. VIVO Hope features the evocative textures of Gabriela Lena Frank’s Hilos and the hypnotic minimalism of Philip Glass’s String Quartet No. 5. A new work by the VIVO: Next composition fellow, Cavin Ray Shawler, highlights the future of American music, while Aaron Copland’s Appalachian Spring brings the season to a close with a sense of joy and renewal.
